Welcome To Hockey Burleigh
Hockey Burleigh Incorporated has been established since 1967. Hockey Burleigh is a member of Queensland Hockey and Gold Coast Hockey Association. We have long been established as a community driven club with much of our work being performed by dedicated volunteers. We welcome all members to our club regardless of whether they are hockey veterans or amateurs wanting to just have a bit of fun. So please don't hesitate to drop by and join the club.

Hockey Burleigh club also runs several social functions throughout the year. These events have proven to be great fun and a good fun raiser for the club.

Hockey Burleigh proudly supports Hookin2Hockey, hockey's National Participate Programme, where young players are introduced to the game through the Club environment, in a safe and fun programme.

Phil Makes Another Save!

By Jeff Butterworth on Monday, April 11, 2011 9:44 AM
Phil Gadd and Josey had a baby girl Bonney on Saturday morning. For those who don't know Phil, he is the Div 1 Men's goalkeeper and U11 coach. The ambulance didn't make it in time and Phil had to deliver Josey. Probably one of his more important saves. Hopefully he used his gloves gently and it wasn't a stick save...

U18 NZ Touring Team

By Jeff Butterworth on Wednesday, April 06, 2011 7:50 AM

On Wednesay 20th April, our U18 girls are playing a touring New Zealand team at 5pm at GCHA.  These are always lots of fun.  We may have to fill a few spots with U18 boys as our numbers are pretty light on in this age group, especially with Maddie and Elanor away with the U18 Women's National Championships.

Junior Umpire Mentoring Kicks Off

By Jeff Butterworth on Sunday, April 03, 2011 10:08 AM
Yesterday saw Louis Hassum (U13B) and Michelle Borg(U13G) kick off the GCHA junior umpire mentoring program for the season. They gave it a great go and will only improve with more games, which both are keen to do. Thanks go to Jeanette Barnard and Brian Gadd (both from Burleigh) who mentored the kids. This year we have eight juniors who have expressed interest in umpiring, which is just great!

If you see a junior with an umpire shirt on, make sure you congratulate them for having a go.  There are many seniors who won't do what these kids do, so they should be encouraged as much as possible.
