Hockey Burleigh Incorporated has been established since 1967. Hockey Burleigh is a member of Queensland Hockey and Gold Coast Hockey Association. We have long been established as a community driven club with much of our work being performed by dedicated volunteers. We welcome all members to our club regardless of whether they are hockey veterans or amateurs wanting to just have a bit of fun. So please don't hesitate to drop by and join the club.

Hockey Burleigh club also runs several social functions throughout the year. These events have proven to be great fun and a good fun raiser for the club.

Hockey Burleigh proudly supports Hookin2Hockey, hockey's National Participate Programme, where young players are introduced to the game through the Club environment, in a safe and fun programme.

Junior Finals

I was lucky enough to watch most of the junior finals on the weekend missing only the U11/2 game which was unfortunately on the same time my son's U11/1 game was on. What great hockey. Burleigh can be really proud of our the juniors.

Senior Rounds Completed

The weekend just gone saw the last round of seniors hockey played. What a contrast of days. Saturday saw many games called off because the fields were turned into swimming pools and Sunday was hot and humid. Unfortunately for all but two teams that was their last game of the season. Final standings are as follows:

Div1M - 5th
Div1W - 5th
Div2M - 5th
Div2W - 4th
Div3M - 8th
Div3W Cherokees - 4th
Div3W Pocohontas - 8th

So it looks like the Cherokees will play in a knock out semi on Saturday. However, one of the games washed out last Saturday does have an impact on the final placings. If All Stars beat Nerang by more than four goals, Cherokees will be knocked out. That game will be replayed Thursday.

Junior Presentation Day

The Junior Presentation Day will be held 1:00pm Saturday 10th September 2011 at GCHA. Look for the Burleigh tent near the grass field. See here for full details.

This is the day of the junior grand finals. We hope to have several teams playing in the finals. Come and support the teams then stay for presentation day. Make sure you bring a comfy chair!

The regular rounds for the juniors are now finished (except for the U18 girls who play one additional round). The teams have done very well.

This is a fantastic effort by all the teams. The teams, and their coaches, have been a credit to the club, playing with good sportsmanship and having great fun. Good luck to all the teams in the upcoming final rounds.
