2018 New Years News

Dear Hockey Burleigh Members,

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and been able to have a well-deserved break with your families.

While hockey may seem a long way from your mind we are writing to you all to let you know what season 2018 may look like. As you all know we had a much disrupted season last year and your patience was appreciated. Unfortunately season 2018 will be very similar – GCHA are yet to inform clubs of any plan for senior or junior start dates for season 2018. However, what I can tell you all is our training nights will be moved to Thursday nights – this is in accordance with GCHA regulation that each club rotates training nights forward one day at the beginning of each season.

Training will commence on the 1st of February at RUNAWAY BAY for both senior and junior players. The times will remain the same – juniors 4:30-6:30 and seniors 6:30-8:30.

We will only have access to training at Runaway Bay from 1st of February until the 15th of March. From March, all venues become unavailable due to the Commonwealth Games. The first few weeks will consist of trials for senior teams then once teams are finalised training in teams will commence. If you are unable to trial please let the club secretary know (hockeyburleighsecretary@gmail.com) Please do not contact coaches directly at this stage if you are unable to attend, all correspondence needs to go through the club secretary at this stage until the appointment of positions at the next AGM.
